Purchase Quick Talk

The video below is a Quick Talk instructional video delightfully presented by Sandra Burke SLP.

Quick Talk is about mobility, simplicity, and flexibility.

Mobility:   The device needs to fit in a pant pocket or purse, so you can whip it out, and communicate at the speed of life (although it does work on tablets).

Simplicity:  It needs to be simple and intuitive.   Setting it up ought to be easy, since the life of an autism family is already complicated.

Flexibility:  Give me something I can customize.  It is designed for quick, but also personalized communication.

We are in the process of creating a teach me video for You Tube.  In the meantime, here are some screen shots and ideas.

Navigate:  Simple and Smooth Swiping Motion

We designed Quick Talk for simple and quick navigation.  Swipe your finger from left to right, or right to left.  You have now mastered navigation in Quick Talk.  Each time you swipe the categories change, which is why you see different words or phrases.  The little house is the home button and will always return you to the Yes/No screen.

Now…tap the menu button of your device and we can change voices.

Voices:  Flexible Choices

You have found the menu button, when you see the “add voices” panel at the bottom of the screen.   Click on add voices and you will find 5 voices to choose from.  Use these to begin the process of customization and personalization.

Many parents work with their child to find their favorite voice, not to mention words phrases and colors.  Voices are a significant expense in building this type of software, so you wil be paying approximately 3 dollars for the voice.

Now…tap the word conversation on screen above (or whatever word you see).  This allows us to select the categories.

We have provided 10 categories plus the yes/no button.   You can pick whichever category you desire, and remember you can also switch the categories in regular mode, by swiping your finger from left to right.

Now…let’s return to the regular screen by selecting the “I want” category (you can also get back the main screen by taping the device menu button).

Tap the orange/yellow tab at the bottom of the screen.  This will allow you to select the specific phrase you desire within the category.  You should see a screen like the one below.

Tap the orange/yellow tab at the top of the screen.  It will return you to the main screen like below.

Now select the gears in the right hand corner next to the house.  You should see a screen like the one below.

Now you can edit each word or phrase within that particular category.  Just tap your finger on the phrase you want to change, and a keyboard will spring up fron the bottom of the screen.  Now change the phrase.

You can also select the appropriate colors for your child.  Remember to tap save at the bottom of the screen.  You have mastered editing.  Click the back button on your tablet or phone and return to the main screen.

You have mastered the basics.   Have fun communicating at the speed of life.
